We saw Shen Yun for the first time last night. It was amazing to see the Chinese culture up close.
LOCATION: I highly recommend coming to Jones Hall at least 10-20 minutes prior to a performance. The building has very few restrooms for the capacity of people there. There's plenty of parking in the underground parking garage for Jones Hall, but there's a lot of walking involved. I recommend dropping off those in front of the entrance of the building, then parking for those who can make the journey.
ATTIRE: Once inside the main entrance (only entrance), its decor is a little dated, but well maintained.... carpet & gold fixtures everywhere. The AC was definitely working when visited, so please dress accordingly.
SEATING: The seats were very comfortable and gave enough space for each person. When purchasing your ticket, remember ODD NUMBER seating is on the side of the main entrance. All EVEN NUMBER seats are on the other side of the building. Cute, comfortable flats shoes highly recommend. Best seats in the house, I my opinion were the BOX SEATS on either side. You have some work to get there, but you can see the stage and orchestra perfectly, AND it's close by the only two restrooms in the building. I hope my review helps someone enjoy their experience at Jones Hall.
Jones Hall for the Performing Arts is one of Houston’s crown jewels. This year, my husband and I decided to get season tickets to the Houston Symphony, and it has been one of the best decisions we've made. Every concert is an experience—whether it's a classical masterpiece or a bold new composition, the talent, passion, and acoustics are unmatched.
We’ve also attended several of the curated shows, and they’ve been just as spectacular. The variety in programming keeps things fresh and exciting, and we love how the performances often spotlight underrepresented voices and innovative storytelling through music.
The hall itself is beautiful—elegant and timeless, with great sightlines and an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. The staff are always warm and helpful, and everything from ticketing to intermission runs smoothly.
We look forward to every visit. Whether it’s date night or a special occasion, Jones Hall always delivers a memorable night out. We feel lucky to be part of this season and can’t wait for the performances still to come!
The orchestra sounds amazing and they always make such entertaining performances.
